Introduction: Hello Neighbors!
My name is Gregory Abbs. I was born and raised here in Syracuse, Indiana, graduating from Wawasee High School in 2002. After college graduation from Purdue University, I temporarily relocated to Wisconsin for work before permanently returning back home to Syracuse with my family. Hometown values are deep-rooted in my current service within this community and will continue to be the base for my service in the future. Ensuring Syracuse remains a safe and affordable community to settle and thrive is one of my top priorities.

Thoughtful decision-making about infrastructure, land use, and public services are crucial to the safety, affordability, and welcoming atmosphere that makes Syracuse a desirable place to establish residency and industry.
Decisions that support our residents, local businesses, and schools by investing wisely and protecting the character of our community will keep our town strong, resilient, and worth calling home.
Serving The Community & Supporting Local Businesses
Servant leadership, through coaching local youth sports teams, has allowed me to give back to the community by mentoring youth, promoting teamwork and discipline, and ensuring kids have access to safe, positive activities.
Responsible Tax Utilization
Through my past employment in Wisconsin at Fincantieri Marinette Marine, I gained experience in government contracting with the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard. This experience has developed my ability to manage complex budgets funded with taxpayer dollars. Accuracy and transparency are NOT negotiable; every expense must be justified and aligned with Syracuse's best interests.
When considering projects, I intend to listen to taxpayer concerns to carefully control costs and make decisions that align with Syracuse's well being, while being responsible and reasonable with spending.
